The mission of the Health Ministry is to increase awareness of health issues that are prevalent in our congregation and promote a healthy lifestyle within our congregation and the community at large.
Glorify and lift the name of Jesus in all that we say and do because we are a faith-based ministry of the Church. Our objectives are to: Promote the wellness and health of the congregation by providing information and identifying resources for members (adults, teens, and children). Identify and solicit the resources necessary to carry out the activities of the Health Ministry. Provide healthy lifestyle educational materials. Work closely with the Culinary Committee to support and encourage the preparation of healthy foods for all gatherings the Church sponsors. Work closely with the grief ministry and those members in the congregation who work in the health care industry to raise awareness promote positive mental behavior.
The Ministry will observe Health Awareness Months, including Heart Health Month (February), National Nutrition Month (March), Stroke &High Blood Pressure Awareness (May), Breast Cancer Awareness (October). Diabetes Education (November).
